LOCATION—April 28, 2008—BEA Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: BEAS) a world leader in enterprise infrastructure software, today announced increased momentum to its European Channel Partner program with the appointment of new reseller partners in Germany and Switzerland, Italy, and the UK. The expansion to the two-tier Value-Added Reseller (VAR) Program, allows BEA to capitalize on growing demand for its enterprise infrastructure solutions and extend Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) market expansion throughout Europe. BEA has been working with Magirus—an elite distributor of enterprise software and services, and its first Value-Added Distributor (VAD) in Europe—to recruit these partners, a relationship which is instrumental in helping BEA develop the joint sales strategy and expand aggressively into new market segments and coverage models.
“BEA is very excited about the opportunity offered by these new reseller partners,” says Valerie Singer, Vice President, EMEA Channels & Alliances, BEA Systems. “The new partners will extend BEA’s sales reach into the lucrative upper mid-market sector in the UK, Germany, Switzerland, and Italy. This segment offers significant and lucrative sales opportunities in Portal Solutions, Business Integration, Enterprise Service Bus (ESB), and Application Servers. BEA WebLogic and AquaLogic—together with the company’s virtualization solutions—complement Magirus’ enterprise software distribution skills, allowing customers to realize the flexibility of Open Source and proprietary software and provide the basis for seamless SOA deployment. As we move forward, we anticipate welcoming even more reseller partners in these and other countries to the BEA European Channel Partner program.”
The announcement also represents an opportunity to share sales leads between BEA and its partners. Moreover, it enables the VAR community to capitalize on the growing demand for enterprise infrastructure and fulfil customer demand for services only they can deliver.
As part of this two-tier distribution model, Magirus will support the new VARs through sales mentoring, sales enablement training, technical training, technical support, pre-sales training and support, marketing and lead generation support, access to unlimited development software. All of this is based on BEA best practices already in use in the U.S. and Asia.
