The Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID) heralds an entirely new regime in trade reporting, investor protection and trade transparency. When it comes into effect, the Directive will have a significant impact on investment firms, exchanges and regulators in all European Union countries.
The European capital markets are set to change radically during the course of the next few years and firms will need to adjust their strategies continually to remain competitive. Investment firms that develop a joined-up response to the directive—one which meets the compliance requirements and creates opportunities to continuously improve business process—will gain advantage. Firms that only view this as a ‘tick-in-the-box’ compliance exercise will not.
MiFID represents an opportunity as much as a challenge. BEA solutions ideally position organisations with a real opportunity to capture market share through their compliance to MIFID
